It takes a rather short time to drive from one end to Kauai to the other, on the way you encounter a amazing difference scenery. When you make your way to the western side of the island you begin to get a feeling of an island that was built up by agriculture and not tourism, as you pass through the countryside as old sugarcane processing plants and rusted out buildings silhouette. These icons silhouette the highway along side the mountains and valleys, they seem to be perfectly placed in history and lend them selves to the scenery.
